One for gm

Thank you Youtube for having this song front and center this morning. It was a pleasant surprise. I've been a big fan of these guys since my country music loving brother brought one of their albums home back in the 60's. Like many Black musicians, they started out singing gospel music while growing up in Alabama. Soon they exploded on the country charts with their great harmony, which caught the ear of two young boys named the Everly brothers. They were huge fans of them, and you can hear the similarities in their harmony. Enjoy!

Never heard of them but I read how they used to call Elvis a "white nigger".

Leave it to you to spoil my love for these guys. It does not surprise me, however. They were Jim Crow era white guys growing up in Alabama.

Everly Brothers were big in the islands and huuuge with my parents but in all I've read of them not once was the Louvin Brothers referenced as an influence. Interesting🤔
