Strange that outside of South Africa, most people know Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko, Desmond Tutu and Oliver Tambo, or Walter Sisulu.. but not many ppl outside of South Africa have heard of Mr Robert Sobukwe.

Re: South Africa : Remembering Robert Sobukwe (video)
Hotep, comrades. I see that Robert Sobukwe was President of the Pan African Congress (PAC), in 1959-'60. where he organized the nationwide anti-pass marches in cities across South Africa, of which Sharpeville was one location.
He was subsequently sentenced to three years imprisonment. At the end of the term, in 1963, SA enacted the "Sobukwe Clause," which allowed an indefinite renewal of his prison sentence, relocating him to Robben Island for solitary confinement. At the end of his sixth year, at Robben Island, he was released and placed under house arrest until his death in 1978.
Indeed, how much or little media attention one receives does not define one's greatness. The anti-pass march led to the unfortunate Sharpeville Massacre, which spurred global attention to the anti-apartheid movement.
