Sorry to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull, a multi-talented lady who recorded 21 albums and acted in movies and on stage. She appeared alongside Glenda Jackson in Chekhov's Three Sisters; and played Ophelia in Hamlet – later admitting her nightly descent into madness had been chemically enhanced. She did not take shit from anyone, declaring in her book, “Never apologize, never explain - didn’t we always say that? Well, I haven’t and I don’t." LOL!! Right on, Marianne!! In her youth she was a beauty, and more than once she appeared in my teenage sex fantasies. Mick Jagger fell for her; they were an item for a few years back in the day. And a little-known fact: she was a descendent of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, the author of "Venus in Furs," which spawned the term masochism. RIP Marianne.

Somebody I know is very pissed at you for upstaging his post on Marianne Faithfull. He thinks you have to come from a British island to truly understand her popularity & fame.

Dear Grim, please tell your friend that i waited and waited for his post on Miss Faithfull and finally decided to post it myself. Also tell him that we have something in common. "As Tears Go By" was one of the first songs that, I too, learned to play on my solid body, single pick-up, Epiphone guitar. I even recall the chord progression: G A C D. Ha!!
