Another Massive loss with a huge legacy that touched us all, thank you Roy Ayers, thank you sir, rest well.

Man, Roy Ayers(photo below) a true legend whose influence spanned Jazz, Soul and Funk died at age 84 yesterday in NYC. MAY HE RIP forever.

One of my favorite songs of Roy Ayers is "Everybody Loves the Sunshine".

Mr Grim, how did I heard this news before you?? You live in the U.S right? Dude, I'm on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, yet....smh!!!

Wow, all these guys were in their prime when I came along -- now they're leaving us or they're in their 80s.

Roy Ayers was indeed cutting edge.

Signed: now here's my question: how come your close friend, the so-called 'World's Greatest DJ, didn't tell you to announce "DJ FUNk" of Chicago, and one of the world's greatest & most creative DJs anywhere? Does your fake DJ friend even know of DJ FUNk?

Come on Grim Reaper--I've got national and international media looking on here who're frankly afraid, it seems, to run my piece on the Dept of Education being put in place by President Carter to ensure issues like the Ethiopian Ocean, the Ottoman Empire slave trade thru the 1880s, etc. gets promulgated.

I'm sure they cuss, too, but folks will use whatever they can as an excuse, you know. Now, there's vulgar language, and there's profanity. No profane language on the board, forumites.

I can see folk devolving to being vulgar here and there. But... . lol

He(photo below) was one of the pioneers of the sound called ghetto house music in Chicago. There are soo many DJ's out there, but I dont think I'm familiar with DJ FUNK. I might have by chance came across his house music tunes but didnt know who he is. By the way no surprise that I don't know him because I've just listened to a couple pieces of his work and honestly, NOT MY TYPE OF HOUSE!!!

May he rest in peace anyway.

Wait, who exactly is posting here, 'World's Greatest DJ' or Almighty? Sounds like the LLC DJ.
And what does he mean by, "but I don't think I'm familiar with DJ Funk."

How could ANY DJ not know of DJ Funk? What a disgrace!

Glad Almighty said what he thinks of DJ FUNK, but I could not not intervene as the world's best DJ in this affair. What Almighty meant was that he doesn't really know who DJ FUNK is or was. Plus he made it clear that he's not into the house type of DJ FUNK. You should know that Almighty loves music, and have feelings on the good house remixes.
