Chaos Fascism

Below, I've posted a short and intriguing article by Michael Tomasky over at the New Republic on what he calls chaos fascism. Historically, there have been two roads to fascism: First, by brute force—a military coup, that sort of thing. Second, a bit more stealthily, and legally—through legislation, executive decrees, and court decisions that hand more power to the leader.

Now we have a new way, a third way created by Donald Trump- chaos fascism. Destroy the institutions of democracy until they’re so disfigured or dysfunctional that a majority no longer cares about them. And as that is occurring, simultaneously neutralize all those that have the power to investigate you. There will be no bloody coup, just a slow erosion of our democratic institution.

And that 'chaos fascism' is sending tremors internationally, particularly with the tariff madness.

I have to admit that I didn't think they'd go after Social Security: no way, I thought, cause it would cost them the next election cycle in a big way, but they are messing with it. I'm now at the age where this touches me personally so this matters!

It's amazing watching extremely wealthy people messing & cutting programs benefiting the poor, working class and middle class people. How wicked!
