OMG, don't let Netanyahu see these pictures cause he'll find these folks and exterminate them..
I checked out the book's reviews and I think the author - who is an Ashkenazi Jew - meant well but his framing reflects Ashkenazi indoctrination and is quite Eurocentric. Check out this passage:
"..Dorman provides a vivid portrait of Black Israelites, showing them to be a transnational movement that fought racism and its erasure of people of color from European-derived religions."
What da hell does he mean by "European-derived religions"? Judaism & Christianity ARE NOT European-derived religions. Dammitt! So you see how easily the European Jewish indoctrination informs & frames his scholarship? There's a subtle assumption that Judaism (Ashkenazi!) is the default originators of the religion. Terrible!
No doubt he did some good research though, both on the AfricanAmerican angle and the West Indian/Caribbean influence bleeding into the formation of Rastafarianism etc.
Frankly, i'll get a copy of this book(2012) for my library but with the awareness that his framing of Judaism is too Eurocentric.

He's a great academic who studied American Black Israelite religions. Dorman to me looks more like a Sephardic Jew.
Here is one of Dorman's quotes that I found interesting,.. ""If you experience racism directed at you and your family and everyone who looks like you, you might also be attracted to a confrontational practise that intentionally insults those who you perceive to be insulting you""". Had to clap my hand on this one.

Of course religions, ancient civilisations, etc are all part of the status quo, its been politically whitewashed in order to impose the Eurocentrism. There are some stuff that Muslims and/or Arabs have historically invented/came up with but the Eurocentrism refused to give them credit.

hahaha, at least he's been honest here "derived" means to obtain something from a specified source. All religions in Europe came from somewhere else or were obtained from somewhere else.

"All religions in Europe came from somewhere else or were obtained from somewhere else."
Well, not quite: Europe, East & West, had their indigenous forms of worship but they simply didn't survive the force of African & Middle Eastern spiritual forms/energies(Judaism, Christianity). Even Islam made headways in Europe.

That is true, I know, Europe had its own native pagan gods,.. sorry maybe I wasn't clear on my point but what I meant by "all religions" in Europe came from somewhere else, I meant the migration of the Abrahamic monotheism tree definitely came from East-Africa via the so called Middle-East.
