Poet Vivian Ayers Allen has been claimed by the wicked one, satan's concubine/Almighty.. She was 102-years-old. Amazing!.. She was a mighty writer & poet yet most of us on this board probably never heard of Vivian Ayers Allen.. She was the mother of dancer/producer Debbie Allen & Phylicia Rashad of the Cosby Show.. MAY VIVIAN AYERS ALLEN REST IN PEACE IN A WONDERFUL ARTSY HEAVEN. AMEN

Mr GM read her Wikipedia page and he's quite impressed! She was truly a poet warrior with a complete artistic sensibility in the ole negro sense of self. Sadly, once again, most Black folks - about 99.9% - don't know or ever heard of poet Vivian Ayers Allen.

Indeed, I remember her face from the Cosby show series which I use to watch from time to time back in mid-80s, oh man, we're getting old.
Except one thing, I never knew Vivian Allen(photo below) was a great poet, I never knew she was an activist, and I never knew she was the mother of actresses Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen. I thought she was just an actor!! May She RIP!!
Can't believe Pill Cosby fuucked it up like that. Beautiful family, great role models,.. but Pill messed it all up.
