Reno, Nevada: To Be A Black Mayor in "Reno" City Could Be A Problem, haha (article)

Reno is strange,.. Reno, the fourth largest city in Nevada, doesn't care if you are a Black city "council"..., the only time Reno city goes crazy is when a Black person tries to become the first Black Mayor of Reno city(hahaha) After a successful campaign in 1991, Bernice Mathews — now 90 — became the first Black person to serve on the Reno City Council. Now in 2024 Lily Baran, left, and Tara Webster(photo below), candidates for Reno City "Council" respectively, pose together for a portrait in Reno. Reno never had a Black mayor in its entire history and doesn't want to today. LOL!!
