The just elected new president of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, is a fierce outspoken critic of Israel and very pro-Palestine..
She blew away the competition.

Connolly has described Hamas "as part of the fabric of the Palestinian people", though she's criticized their actions.
She describes Israel's actions in Gaza as "a genocide". Awesome!
She made Gaza a key part of her campaign etc.

Some folks see Catherine Connolly's success in Ireland as similar to Zohran Mamdani's success in New York. They both were not afraid to take on Israel and its powerful lobbies etc etc
