Our National Pastime

My heart goes out to the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans. They played their hearts out in this year's World series but came up a little short. The Dodgers were just a little better and perhaps a little luckier. Watching last night's game proved to me what I have been saying for years: baseball is the greatest game ever invented.

Ha, ha, I just saw part of the game. But that finale was reminiscent of baseball back in the day—like a flashback to the 50s and 60s. Ha, ha, Babe Ruth and Satchel Paige would no doubt give their stamp of approval on that one.

Yes, it sounds a little dismissive of the great sport of soccer (football) but I am admittedly biased. I grew up in walking distance of the stadium where Henry Aaron played. I ate, walked and slept baseball.
