Trump is unhinged, even more than his usual, normal unhingedness. His poll numbers are in the toilet. He's failed to halt inflation and scandal, fix healthcare, and end the war in Ukraine. What do authoritarians like Trump do when in crisis mode? They distract. He's a master at it. He calls female reporters piggie, threatens to execute Dems for treason, make plans to resume nuclear tests, raise and lower tariffs ad nauseum, tear down the East Wing, and float rumors about a third term. All have been used to dominate the news cycle. Still, his poll numbers suffer. All his distractions have not worked. Next up, could he look for stronger distractions? Will he wag the dog? Will he start a war? God help us all. I'm frightened to death when I see a Trump cornered, desperate and angry.
