I've been following her work and bravery as a Palestinian photographer so this posthumous award is pretty deserving and cool.
mh-- Palestinian photographer Mariam Dagga is one of the winners of the 2026 George Polk Award for photojournalism. The Israeli military killed her in August when they bombed Nasser hospital in Khan Younis, a double tap strike, that killed 22 Palestinians, including 5 journalists. [2.18]
Yes, the modern Nazis bombed the hospital and when rescuers rushed to the site they were bombed too. Mariam was one of those killed in that "tap" bombing as she was taking pictures of the devastation.
