James E. West born in 1931(photo below) is a pioneering inventor who invented the foil electret "microphone" in 1962 while working at Bell Labs. This innovation "revolutionized" sound technology by creating a compact, sensitive, and inexpensive "microphone". Today, over 90% of the two billion "microphones" produced annually—used in phones, laptops, camcorders, multimedia computers and hearing aids—are based on HIS electret technology. All these items employ electret technology.

In 1960 James was teamed up with Gerhard M. Sessler, a German born physicist, and the two were tasked to develop an inexpensive, highly sensitive and compact microphone.

James, a native of Farmville, Virginia, as the elder of two children to Samuel Edward and Matilda West. He was born in his maternal grandfather's house because the local hospital would not admit Black people.

You missed an important tidbit: his mother was one of NASA's "Hidden Figures". Cool!

We are banned from doing research on Cuba & Fidel Castro..
massa TheOne says that area is only for himself & Kris Columbus..
Every book on the history of Cuba, Fidel, Soviet Union/Russia, the Caribbean area/Grenada revolution etc., have been moved to his upstairs living room where he, Kris, and a couple uncle-tom-type pygmies do research.

Ooh come on guys, I've always appreciated the Cuban Revolution of 1959 that overthrew the dictatorship of that bastard Fulgencio Batista. Thats one of the greatest history of Cuba and Fidel, also I love the Afro-Cuban culture and music which are a profound fusion of West African traditions and Spanish influences. Prior to that revolution Cuba was heavily influenced by the United States, functioning in many ways as a "playground" or a "backyard" for U.S sex tourism, investment, and organized crimes.

But guys come on, you can see that my beef was directed to the Soviet Union/Russia only in terms of not helping Cuba enough to stand on its two feet during the embargo. I believe Venezuela had done more than Russia on the economic help. I am not against Cuba, once again, I am being misunderstood.

Also, yes, there is a well-documented corruption within Cuba's government, ranging from petty bribery "due to economic scarcity" to grand corruption involving high-ranking officials and military elites. While the state maintains strict control, corruption is driven by "opaque" institutions, a monopoly on resources, and economic mismanagement, leading to embezzlement and the theft of state. Now thats not a good thing for the people of Cuba when you are under international sanctions. Corruption under such circumstances makes it worse for the ppl.

With this being said, I can't wait to see Russia putting sanctions on U.S allies. Even back when the Soviet Union was strong and powerful they couldn't dismantle the American embargo against Cuba. But I get it, USSR lacked the legal, political, and economic authority over US foreign policies.
