Remembering Jacaob and Israel

Jewish brothers Israel and Zelig Jacob of Subcarpathian Rus (presently Western Ukraine) await selection on the ramp at Auschwitz-Birkenau in May 1944. Both were murdered in the gas chambers shortly after arrival.

is today their birth date, were they at one time anti-Nazi fighters?
What's the context for this remembrance on the LLC Board?
Obviously they didn't survive, so why the singling out of those two among the millions who perished?
Did you forget to post a link?

gm, i did a little deeper looking on these two boys and I found this:

Photograph of Yisrael and Zelig Jacob on the ramp at the Auschwitz-Birkenau killing center in May 1944. The Nazis murdered the brothers in a gas chamber shortly after this photo was taken.

Yisrael and Zelig were two of the approximately 430,000 Jews that Nazi German authorities and their Hungarian collaborators deported to Auschwitz from Hungary in 1944. This photograph is one of many taken on May 26, 1944. That day, SS photographers documented the arrival, selection, and registration of transports of Jews at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Some of the photographs taken that day were collected in an album. Its original purpose, creator, and owner are unknown. After the war, the album was found by Holocaust survivor, Lili Jacob. It is commonly called the "Lili Jacob Album" or the "Auschwitz Album." Upon looking through the album, Lili Jacob recognized herself, her younger brothers Yisrael and Zelig, other family members, and members of her community in some of the photographs.

I asked because I found the post here on LLC very random, without context, and very baiting. Like, why would images of the holocaust suddenly appear here outside any discussion around the subject? It felt deliberately disruptive & mischievous. And I don't go for that.

Now here's why some folks dont like me: I too did some quick research on the image and it is well represented at the 'United States Holocaust Memory Museum', the same place you got the info on their fate.
As for the folks who ran that museum? Fucck them!
They are some of the strongest supporters of Netanyahu and the genocide in Gaza - they are damn-blasted Zionists! As a matter of fact, they don't even admit to a genocide taking place in Gaza.
So again, respectfully I say, Fucck them!

Random? Without context? It was the start of a new post. There was no context. I felt it was a very poignant image. That's all.
