GM: Now here's why some folks dont like me: I too did some quick research on the image and it is well represented at the 'United States Holocaust Memory Museum', the same place you got the info on their fate.
As for the folks who ran that museum? Fucck them!
They are some of the strongest supporters of Netanyahu and the genocide in Gaza - they are damn-blasted Zionists! As a matter of fact, they don't even admit to a genocide taking place in Gaza.
So again, respectfully I say, Fucck them!

Maestro: As a portrait artist and lifelong photographer, i am constantly looking for great images. And over the years i have posted them both here and on my fb page, without context and random!! I get more likes on fb for my photos than any other topic. They say a picture says a million words, and i believe it. Also, when I post images, i don't research the history of which groups posted it prior to me and the propaganda behind it. As i said in my previous post, this picture that seems to draw your ire, is extremely poignant; it brought tears to my eyes seeing these two handsome young kids minutes before their deaths. It is also a timely post. The horrors of fascism should be present in all our minds in these dark days.

The picture didn't draw my "ire"; It was a random image of two brothers lost to the Nazi holocaust. It seemed random without a surrounding context or prior discussion, that's why I ask for a context.

Now since you're assuming it drew my "ire", I can now assume you posted it with the expectation that it WOULD draw my "ire", which says more about your usual trickery, than it says about me.

Ok, so now that you've really drawn my "ire", let me politely say to you...GO FUCK YOURSELF!!

NB: when I said "fuck them", it was aimed at those who run the museum, not the image. But then you well knew that.

What is the need for me to elaborate on the image? And what is the need to get bent out of shape over it.

I had no context to Harriet Tubman when i showed that raw portrait of her a while back, or Frederick Douglas working in his study. When I see an image that either interests me or moves me, I post it.

History, as you know, is my love, as are portraits. Let us never forget the holocaust, slavery, and all of mankind's genocides.

There was absolutely no intent to be deliberately disruptive & mischievous, and that, I resented.

Maestro is part "Jewish" he said it himself on this board the very first time he started posting on LLC. BTW, I consider myself a Camel coz Camels have an exceptional, long-term memory and are known to remember people, places, and experiences—both good and bad for years, so I very rarely forget things.

Anyway, it is a common human reaction for individuals with fully or partly Jewish ancestry to be impacted by the Holocaust and have deep, often personal, feelings about it, ranging from emotional, social, to political perspectives. Just saying.

Don't forget that while many Jewish ppl around the globe are anti-zionists many if not most are also hooked to the holocaust remembrance.

You know that I don't have any proof that you're of Caribbean backgrounds or that you're even a Black person,...but I don't see why I should not believe you if you said so. Umm umm, the holocaust is always in our faces, and Black suffering is not as privileged in America as is Jewish suffering.
Jewish suffering is at the top of the hierarchy in terms of history and human suffering, something that's bullshit to me - I don't play that!

No, you are bent out of shape, gm. But i do wholeheartedly agree with you that the holocaust always gets top billing. I've said here more than once that African people have suffered more than any other group. It is a miracle that they survived the hell they have endured. But to post that image of poor Israel and Zelig does not in any way, shape or form disrespect the African suffering. Look at their faces in that picture, man. It horrifies me. I could not stop looking at it. It brought tears to my eyes. That is why i posted it. Honestly, you floored me with your response. I guess the term is flabbergasted. Gm, I would NEVER EVER play games with such sensitive subjects involving the holocaust and slavery, and it hurts me to believe you think I would.
