I've heard of Boots Riley, and his work always sound interesting, but since I've given up on most Black cinema, I've lost touch.. This one sounds interesting but I don't see it getting a sizable black audience - Tyler Perry has lowered down both the taste & standards of lots of Black folks with his bullshit movies..
Good luck with 'I Love Boosters' but mehhh... Afro-Surrealism is pure language hype - too pretentious & intellectual bullshitism for my taste! Now go ahead and sue me..😹
Yes gm, movie reviews using words like "Afro-Surrealism" overintellectualize. Just give me a meat and potato review that i can understand. I agree with the old simple aristotelian belief that a story to work must have a beginning, middle, and end. Just give me a little idea of what it's about. Enough of the damn deep insight into it. But this review is from Columbia University newspaper. They must show they are the elites. LOL!!!
