He used to criticize Rock N Roll guitarists as being overrated and just noisy, and that included Jimi Hendrix.. Then he confronted Jim Hendrix one time in New York city and ask him to play a Jazz standard on an acoustic guitar. Hendrix didn't only know the tune, he played it easily! Miles was stunned! The mistake most folks make about Jimi Hendrix is that he was a great guitarist but mostly into reverb, feedback, and Rock showmanship.. But put him on an acoustic guitar and he'd pour out fluent notes and sophisticated chords. I swear!
Worth noting that Miles was a very dark skin guy, and you know the extra shit he probably went through both inside & out!
btw, did I mention that Miles then suspected his girlfriend of sleeping with Hendrix. Oh lawwwd
