Interesting.
I mean, these guys were true revolutionaries in the real sense - not pretenders. Now, one of them, Raul Castro, is about to be humiliated by a low down scumbag like Donald Trump and the son of a reactionary Cuban, Marco Rubio.

I remember both Dr Ben & Stokely Carmichael reminding us of how Ho Chi Minh use to stomp around Harlem at one point in his life and being influenced by Marcus Garvey and some of the street preachers/revolutionists there. Minh, it seems, was drawn to the Black struggle, not only in the US but in France as well - hanging out with some of the Pan-Africanist & Black nationalists in France at the time, including some of the top Caribbean scholars attending university there.
Pretty sure hardly anyone know of that part of his biography.

Awesome information, my brothers. And today we see the humaneness of the Vietnamese society exhibited to the whole world. Of course this New York Harlem history of Ho Chi Minh’s life journey is embedded in the Vietnamese culture, but these slave-driver scion’s of capitalism would never want the masses to imbibe this narrative.

My AI search pulled this up:

Ho Chi Minh lived in Harlem, New York around 1912–1913 while working menial jobs such as a dishwasher and laborer. During his time in the neighborhood, he frequently attended the rallies and speeches of African nationalist and Pan-Africanist leader Marcus Garvey.

And the “progressive” Gloria Steinem wrote this insightful article in the New Yorker several years ago.

Like this Japanese-American sista Yuri Kochiyama(photo below) she held Malcolmx as he died.

She was a close friend, political ally, and member of Malcolmx later organization. Kochiyama and Malcolm X met in 1963. He was a pivotal influence on her shift toward Black nationalism, while she introduced him to Japanese anti-nuclear activists and survivors of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings.

Kochiyama was in the audience at the Audubon Ballroom in 1965 and was famously photographed cradling Malcolm X's head in her lap as he lay dying.

For sure that kind of knowledge would not be part of a mainstream school syllabus. In fact, that knowledge is exactly what the education establishment would keep suppressed!

I mean, Stokely even traveled to Hanoi to meet with Ho chi Minh etc..
I remember him lightheartedly referring to Ho Chi Minh as "uncle Ho' during a radio interview shortly before his death.

That's why I was surprised and immediately saddened on seeing maestro posting that Raul Castro & Ho Chi Minh image. Stokely Carmichael/Kwame Ture came to mind right away.
The bond between the two was strong!

I wish I had time to delve into the revolutionary life of Yuri Kochiyama..
A true revolutionary sister and warrior on behalf of Black Liberation.

Historical ones!

Again, like I said earlier on, these pics full me with sadness cause they betray how far down we've sank in terms of Black quality leadership.
Right now we are being led by folks like Rev Al Sharpton, who to my mind remains a con man (don't forget Sharpton was an FBI snitch at one time - there's a video of one of his meetings with the fbi out there). But whenever we bring this up some black folks get uncomfortable and want to chop off our heads! Anyway...

Kwame Ture used to throw out slogans like "reading is revolutionary" at us. And he was serious.
Sadly, I was not mature enough to really understand & appreciate Stokely Carmichael.
Guys like Stokely, Huey, Ho Chi Minh, Bob Moses, Jesse, George Jackson, Malcolm, Betty, Angela, Assata, especially Dr King, used to be voracious readers in addition to being on-the-ground activists/warriors and organizers.

Very few of today's so-called Black leaders meet that standard; and don't even get me started on today's Black intellectuals whose sole ambition is to be on tv talking safe insipid pablum shit.
