The guy on the "bass fiddle" I would swear he was Jimi Hendrix. He looks a lot like him.

It does indeed look like Jimi. However, the guy playing with Sonny is right-handed.

I thought Sonny Rollins was dead already - already claimed by Almighty

And Sir Maestro, you've chosen an exquisite piece of his work to send with the announcement!
"St.Thomas" is like a hymn throughout the islands!
I started hearing that song from the time of my birth, it seems! lol
It's basically like a folk song from the bad old days of slavery!
Seems like every one in the Caribbean, at some point in their lives, hummed that tune!

Your selection, in this context, is very very appropriate, cuz Sonny Rollins' family is from St.Thomas, USVI - my ole stomping grounds!

BUT AGAIN, whether you're from the British, Dutch, French or Spanish islands, that song is buried some where in your consciousness. I swear!

Dude, some times you post stuff here that throw me into some kind of reverie - kinda. lol

A MIGHTY INTELLECT..

Dr Clarence B. Jones has been claimed at 95 years old..
One of the Black intellectual giants doing great behind-the-scenes work for public faces..
He was a lawyer, advisor, draft speech writer, etc..
He and Dr King always threw ideas at each other..
Clarence Jones helped draft part of Dr King's iconic "I Have a Dream" speech..

I've heard of him(photo below) while reading about MLK's Washington speech some years ago. He was also one of the organizers of that March that gathered almost half a million ppl in D.C

Indeed, one of the true giants of Black america's struggle for equality. RIP, sir!!
