British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced a ban on imports of goods produced in Jewish settlements in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Tuesday, where he said Israeli settler "terrorists" are carrying out "ethnic cleansing" against Palestinians.

THIS IS HUUUGE!
Even though in practical terms it won't matter that much on the ground - the settler terrorists know they have Netanyahu & his wicked henchmen on their side..
But politically, this carries trrmendous weight and I expect Trump to condemn it blah blah blah..
Linguistically this is also huuge in that such language has not been used to describe what's going on in the West Bank: the UK under Starmer was a staunch supporter of Israel, right or wrong, and that attitude helped the Green Party do surprisingly well in the last election - the Green Party has a similar agenda in terms of Palestine/Israel to the DSA over here etc etc.

Good lord, Miliband is taking full-force heat from the pro-Israel zealots, including the UK's chief Rabbi who accuses him of "making Jews less safe" in the Great Britain. Huhhh????
Others are calling him an "Islamist appeaser"...Huhhhh???

Ed Miliband is a proud British Jew. His grandmother fled to Israel after the holocaust. Her husband died in the holocaust, and he visited her in Israel throughout the 70's. He is no wild-eyed radical against the state of Israel. He has unwavering support for it.

He openly criticizes and condemns Hamas and Hezbollah. On the same day he announced the sanctioning of Israel, he also announced the sanctioning of Lebanese Hezbollah’s financing arm, Al-Qard Al-Hassan.

AIPAC is now fighting a losing battle as Israel lost all credibility thanks to our new media and the small handheld camera.
