At my old job in a manufacturing plant we had thousands of lights that used to have to be replaced every couple of years on average. The LED replacements now last an average of 10 years. It saves a couple of hundred thousand a year just in the cost of scaffolding required to deal with many of them. We had big old emergency lights that once cost hundreds to buy and had to be replaced every 5 years and now they use a $40 LED set that lasts 10 years. The battery required for the LED is much smaller and cheaper.
