The effort must be true to the mission of restoring the vision of the framers of the Constitution. They championed and created a government that does only what is strictly necessary to protect individual rights, leaving individual adults otherwise free to make their own choices. In their compelling and time honored vision, the state should be limited, decentralized, and constrained by the rule of law—not an instrument for shaping culture, redistributing wealth, or "managing" the economy.

Departments created to do such are bloated and ineffective and must be eliminated over a short period of time. Asking people what they do is nothing more than a political gimmick. The vision is a limited federal government. The mission is to eliminate costly functions that are destructive and counterproductive to that vision.
