Getting theological here, but my opinion is that it’s what happens when we view God in terms of our own experience rather than viewing ourselves through God’s Word. We all do it at some time or the other. But when it prevails, when we start believing it, when we become the God we worship, all hell breaks loose - and people wonder why.
