Perhaps I read your initial post incorrectly - it read a bit as if America has not ever had to face war or destruction within its borders - and with the belief that we had not ever done so - how would we possibly empathize with the situation Europeans find themselves in based on Proximity to the aggressive Putin.

I feel very strongly that this is not for US troop involvement.

As soon as the war hawks stop meddling, the war will end. Only the interventionalists believe this is our problem to solve. Or - if someone within this country (agency or otherwise) wants to step up and admit to inciting the conflict...the stage is theirs - many would like to hear that story.

The main question remains - why did Biden poke the bear? And he and his administration absolutely did.

This is not about isolationism - we should reject the concept that we are the world's wallet. Wanting to take care of your own country is NOT isolationism. The Europeans have generally felt superior to the little experiment of a melting pot that we are. Interestingly enough, just heard that phrase used this past week in the media.

We have abysmal poverty and violence within our own borders that no one has seemed to have an answer on solving. And yet - we meddle elsewhere when we cannot even clean up our own front porch.

I've spent plenty of time in Europe and I understand what you are saying as far as the development of viewpoints.

I feel very strongly that it is time to be done with this. And those who are accountable need to step up and answer the WHY questions. We can start with events in 2014 - seems like a great starting point to me.
