this board works as well as any I've seen

Sure, it has stuff each and/or all of us don't like at times, but ignoring stuff is a great technique, imo.
(I'm not proud that it has taken me so long to learn this one.)
We're all learning that personal attacks or even 'perceived' personal attacks often result in the same kind of reactions. So, we learn to 'modify', 'ignore', or we remain clueless.
We have the occasional rude, obnoxious 'drive-by', but I've been impressed with how many posters ignore them. Smart! Smart! Smart!
We seem to have a rather diverse group here, people who do know how to enjoy and respect each other, on the whole. That's not such an easy thing to accomplish when there's such a range of opinion. But when it happens, it's nice to be part of.
Life is short. It's nice when things are such that, if one of us has a tragedy, we can 'all' offer encouragement because we haven't let things get so bad that 'hard hearts'
rule. It seems that we're o.k. in that regard, too.
I enjoy a lot of things about this board. There is a lot of great information posted here in addition to the opinion. That's a plus. There is a lot of good will; no fun to be on a board without that. There is a lot of humor; no fun to be on a board without that. And people seem to be as 'open' as it is wise to be on the internet; that makes it more interesting, too. In addition, we have Mondo's links to music and art; what a nice option.
So, I hope we continue to be the kind of people here that don't need a list of rules. On occasion things will 'break down', but I've noticed that that usually involves an 'interloper', someone who would like to see the board fail.
