Then just about everybody went to simple 2 week pay periods. It was pretty much the same problem but at least you had checks coming in on at least a bi-weekly basis so you did not run out of groceries. There are months with 2 paydays and some with 3 but it was easier to budget for a 2 week period.
One guy told me that his company still paid monthly but always on the 28th. I think that would work well for budgeting monthly payments especially.
The best situation we had was when I got paid monthly but my wife got paid weekly back in our broke days. We had grocery money every week and big bill money at month end.
