"Love Conquers All"©
by Mondo Fuego™ ~ March 13, 1993
You speak of love, desire for me.
I answer back: "Then let it be".
Amid lightning flash and thunder boom,
You ponder freedom from your prison room.
I built a bridge across the moat
to sail a sea no ship would float.
I slew the dragon, my body burned,
Upon the waves I tossed and turned.
The sun beat down upon my flesh;
I lost and regained consciousness.
More determined than hell can be,
I made the move to set you free.
~*~
You trembled as you weighed the odds;
You sought advice from distant gods.
Looking back at traumas past,
You wondered if love could ever last.
Love's failures cause unending pain;
Had you the strength to rise again?
Searching deep within your soul
for answers that could make you whole,
You paused, then turned and said to me:
"Where you are, there shall I also be.
Without your love I can't survive,
Oh, set me free, take me alive!".
~*~
Then let us go, you and I,
To where the mountain meets the sky;
To drink the wine, and taste your lips,
and watch the moon sail over cliffs.
To see the sunset, pink and gold,
and feel the wind blow cool, then cold.
To fire the passion in our hearts,
and make love flame with Cupid's darts.
To sense the heat within our soul,
and merge ourselves, in part, then whole.
To feel desire wax and wane,
then rise boldly and strike again.
~*~
We took our stand, we made our choice,
The Earth and Planets did rejoice.
The victory, proclaimed near and far,
made Moon align with Heaven's star.
'Mid sharp tones of shattered glass,
We gained our freedom from the past.
Above the perils that life can face,
We climbed upward to that safer place.
We gaze steadfastly on the world below,
Removed from hell and its evil glow.
With fire we write upon the wall:
"Behold, ye Earth, Love conquers all!".
