It would shift from 1st to 2nd somewhere about 70MPH, and there was just enough hesitation in the shift to have a "catapult effect". Never tried to see top speed. It made mincemeat out of a '69 911 on a new unopened 3-mile stretch of I90 from Rocky River to Westlake Ohio. Made other muscle car owners sad too. Also had '68 Buick Electra Convertible 430Ci with 391Posi rear end which was quite fast. You could put the entire Detroit Mob in that trunk, including Hoffa.
