I can add a couple...
|
1. A co-worker had a sister who lived in Atlanta. This was before internet and in those days a company travel facilitator made all arrangements and provided you with an itinerary and refundable tickets. My co-worker was supposed to attend a few days of meetings in Atlanta. He found that he could stay the weekend in Atlanta with his sister at no cost to the company and get the airline tickets for over $500 less than the ones the company arranged. He pitched the idea to his boss who took it to the chief accountant. My co-worker was then told that if he wanted to visit his sister he would have to buy his own tickets. 2. I often worked unpaid overtime. I had a bowling league one night a week and I took my shirt to work - left in my car - so that I could change and go directly the bowling center if needed. I changed in the bathroom of our empty office building after hours. One day I was approached by my supervisor who told me that someone had seen me leaving wearing the team shirt and that I was no longer to change into my bowling shirt on company property. They wanted us to be wearing appropriate dress attire at all times on company property.
