How about the lower class parents learning how to read and reading to THEIR children to offset the disadvantage? Oh, I forgot. They are too busy getting high on booze and drugs, screwing, stealing, etc, to bother with their children.

We used to get out circa 50 books per week to read to our kids. Yes, they were small, thin, children's books with ample color pictures that took only a few minutes each to read, but this went on until our children learned to read for themselves. Also, the older ones read to the younger ones. Furthermore, we BANNED TELEVISION, the electronic mental retardation machine, so they HAD to read or be bored stiff.

ALL of them graduated from college with an average between 3.8 and 3.9.
