I have heard of Kosminski (sp??), the letter from hell....

I read somewhere that the claim he had the technical knowledge and skill of a surgeon is a myth. Supposedly, he did have anatomical knowledge, but his skill was not all that fine - more like a butcher, and not a very good one at that. Sorry - I can't remember where I read that.

Anyway, at this point in time, it would be very surprising indeed if we discover who he really was.
