I have an idea, but it's hard to describe what I'm imagining. The device might even take more energy than it creates.

A Foucault pendulum tries to stay in the same orientation while the Earth is turning. Can we make a giant a flywheel or gyroscope that uses the same principle? The flywheel/gyroscope would try to stay in the same alignment while the Earth turns. Can we connect a little generator to the mount. As the Foucault flywheel/gyroscope mount turns, it turns the generator making electricity. Some of the electricity has to be used to keep the flywheel spinning. Maybe there would be extra energy. Maybe we could use that to get free energy. It would NOT be perpetual motion, because we would be stealing energy from Earth's angular momentum.
