The same thing happened to my Grandad's brother. Alexander Nicol Dunn won the Military Medal in 1918, survived with wounds for years and given a Military Funeral in Old Kilpatrick where the whole town turned out. Today he lies in a Paupers grave somewhere in their Cemetery. A local researcher offered to search for his grave but was unsuccessful. What a way to treat your local Hero's.
