A bit more about our Tyne Bridge.

The Tyne Bridge was discussed recently after I'd met a 93 yr old Hebburn lady (Marguerite Nichol) and she told me her Hebburn dad helped build the bridge and took her to see the opening in 1928. She knew only one man had died, but lots of men had fell in the river during its construction. Her dad said the man died because he got careless. This Link tells us more about that tragedy.
