He went peacefully in his sleep, he had been poorly for a while and was ready to go see my late nan Elizabeth or Betty as she was known.
He loved coming on here and reading all the messages, catching up and telling me stories of when he was growing up in Hebburn and Jarrow - fond memories I will always cherish.
I will post a picture here and Norman would you mind putting it as the header for a few days in memory of my grandad? I know he would love that.
After his stroke last year, and following my Nans death he struggled with his health and mobility but he at peace now reunited with his one true love. They fell in love when they were 17, and were never apart more then a few days right up until grandad had his stroke, he would read to her every night without fail and they were the best of friends.
I was very lucky to have witnessed the most beautiful moment I will cherish forever. I watched as my grandad took his last breath on this earth, it was an honour to be in presence of an incredible man, he was so proud, honest and loyal and had the biggest heart, a heart of pure gold. Yes, I like many others will miss him terribly, but tonight we gained a new star!
Thank you all for reading
