Re: For Rhoda Ellis.
Great memories of both George Findlay and my Uncle Jackie while serving my aprenticeship at Bakers. Always saw George many years later making his way to match many years after he retired. What can I say about Jack Ellis...a great, great guy who took me under his wing when I was a boy.My grandfather worked in Bakers for many years as did my dad...both called Len Johnston and cousins of Jack.Remember going to Jarrow Labour club to join the union...Jack told me he'd meet me outside and take me in so I didn't feel intimidated by the older union guys.Little things like that you don't forget easily.
Hope George is feeling better and hope the situation at St James isn't getting him down.
