An old one revisited. The Nelson Jarrow or Hebburn?
Posted by David Henley on July 18, 2019, 10:15 pm
I drove through Monkton Village today where I was brought up and noticed the Lord NELSON and the village and thought of the late pub and it's owner John Shields and times gone.
Happy days, but the point I raise I still see the Nelson as in HEBBURN and the stadium as Monkton where the stadium is and where the bowser line crossed as the boundary.
I know Barry and techno crafts will cite maps, etc, but my point is locals perceptions.
That is my debate people brought up there and there memories and thoughts.
I still live nearby and my father lives on estate still.
