Imperial War Museum-Archives-Interview with Dorothy Tweddell
Posted by Mac Cummings on July 19, 2019, 6:12 pm
We were delighted to find this interview in which Doris Woodhouse,(her maiden name),talks about joining Hawthorn Leslie in 1940 and working there until 1945. It was her experiences as a woman in the yard which the interviewer was most interested in.
She has always said that she was the first woman at Yard level at Hawthorn Leslie.
The recording quality is poor but there is some interesting stuff there.
Her husband Ritchie (Dick etc) also appears in the middle section.
We will be happy for this to enter the Hebburn Archives which Barry created if it is thought appropriate.
