For decades I’ve been in touch with a family history contact, Mike Cram, from Wales, and at the beginning I thought it would be ‘canny’ if I said something in Welsh. I took my Welsh dictionary from the shelf and off I went… yeah, that little sentence will do nicely, I thought.
Mike replied in the nicest possible way, letting me know (as Welsh viewers reading this will testify) that the Welsh/English dictionary cannot be used to string sentences and it was the best laugh he had in a long time!
