Here is Hebburn in 1859.
This 1859 Map shows Hebburn hardly existed then. A farm or two, Ellison Hall, no Lakes.
PLEASE NOTE. In old books on Hebburn it says that the lakes were formed from worked out quarry's. As you can see that was WRONG. The lakes were created a few years after this map was produced on pasture land by forming the lake banks which acted like dams. The little burn that ran through the land automatically filled the lakes.
