I'm changing the header photos far too often so am easing up. Not all visitors view the message board every single day like some of us.
This old Hebburn map is from 1859 and as you can see there wasn't any Quay or Newtown, just the Colliery, a few farms and Hebburn Hall with the old Quarry to its east.'C' Pit can be seen with a few pit houses dotted around it. Below Hebburn Hall is arable farm land which is where the Ellison Family created their four lakes, and the little burn filled them up.
