Geordie is lying on his deathbed and says to his wife, “Ah want te tak all me money with me when ah gan. So promise me ye will put it in the coffin with me.” “Aye ah will pet.” Says his wife. After Geordie dies, his widow attends the funeral with her best friend. Just before the undertaker closes the coffin, she places a small metal box inside. Her friend looks at her in horror. "Surely," she says, "ye didn’t put the money in there." "Ah did promise him,” says Geordies wife, “so ah got aall his money together and put it aal in my bank account, and ah wrote him a cheque. If he can cash it, he’s welcome tiv it!”
