In 1850, this was arable land, known as ‘Dean Field’; occupied by Matthew Laws, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: Field Marshal Alan Francis Brooke, 1st Viscount Alanbrooke (23 July 1883 – 17 June 1963) senior officer of the British Army.
