The flats on the right of the street were built in 1935. We lived in Kent Avenue the back gardens of which backed onto the gardens of the flats in Alfred street.
The father and mother of Ray Wood the Manchester goalkeeper lived in one of the flats. He was in the Munich air crash and survived. He started his playing career i think playing for Reyrolles.
