VICTORIA STREET: Hebburn Quay. Front pedestrianised. Vehicular access to back via Edward Street (on east), and Prince Consort Road (on south). This was likely once named Minto Street. There were two Victoria Streets:
1. Built in or before 1871. Demolished 1940s?
2. Built about 1930s. 29 residential homes (Nos. 1-42).
In 1850, this was grass land and ‘Pond’, occupied by John Redhead, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: Queen Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria).
District No. 28 (Hebburn - St. Cuthbert):
Victoria Street (numbered 1 to 32) 52 Houses.
