I personally have emailed them, my first email pointing out that the situation was an accident waiting to happen, guess what, no one but 2 accidents happened on Thursday. One accident resulted in a car being written off, the other total stupidity, witnessed by my husband and I, we had just driven out of our drive way were approaching with great caution a blind bend when, I am sorry to say this, a lady driver came tearing round the corner luckily she stopped and as she was nearest to the passing place she was the one who had to reverse, she was obviously very angry she slammed her car into reverse and shot backwards, however, she was obviously not a regular user of our track as she would have realised our track runs parallel to quite a big ditch, her car rolled into the ditch, luckily the car did not completely roll over but she was unable to drive the car out and had to wAit for one of our farmers to come in his tractor and pull her car out - the language was very blue but what happened was entirely her own fault.
Next day I was walking down the lane when a small van came towards me at speed, again he was approaching a blind bend, I flagged him down and asked if he would mind driving slower, I told him we had had 2 accidents the day previously both caused by people driving at silly speeds on a single track lane that was used by traffic in both directions, I was amazed when he told me he had never been down our track it was his first time, he thought about things apologised, started to drive off but was unable to do so as another car came round the bend, travelling in the opposite direction, they had a bit of an argument as to who should reverse to let the other get by. I left them to it but we have another 6 weeks of chaos, I can only assume our local MP, councillor et al will only get involved if/when there is a fatality which to be honest as the 2 local farmers will be starting the apple harvest in the next week or so and believe me there will be some very heavy farm vehicles going up and down the track. We locals know and expect the heavy farm vehicles so drive slowly but the morons using the track like a race course don’t an accident waiting to happen I am afraid.
