BEDE BUILDINGS: Hebburn Colliery. Built in or before 1871. Demolished c.1969.
On the north side of Wagonway Road, in front of the Bede Metal Company (copper), situated just
on the right side of the present ‘A&P Group’ entrance gates, and ran east for about 80 yards.
Named after: The Venerable Bede.
