Re: BIRTWISTLE AVENUE
I remember Mr and Mrs Warwick having the shop in Birtwistle Avenue. I think Mrs Warwick was called Dessie. She told my mother how she used to tell my dad off for buying 60 capstan double strength cigarettes every morning, on his way to work He died at the age of 60 of lung cancer. I also remember across the road from the shops the builders left a space between the two sets of semis. I think later house were built filling in the space,
