BLINDBURN STREET: Hebburn Colliery. Built c.1900. Demolished c.1969.
Coming down the ‘Wooden Bridge’ into Campbell Street, this was the next street heading east.
In 1850, this was arable land, known as ‘Forth Long Field’; occupied by John Redhead, and leased from landowner Cuthbert Ellison.
Named after: Blindburn in the Cheviots, Northumberland.
