Yes, it was a great pity that the maritime history centre did not matererialise. We went there when HMS Cavalier was placed in the dry dock. It was a great idea and starter but all came to nothing, such a grand opportunity, especially with it being on the water's edge. The Tyne tug 'George V might have also found a place there because I was offered it for free if I could find a place for it (now sadly scrapped). That hallowed ground was another bonus, having given birth to so many historic ships.
